Day 1 – Calama – San Pedro de Atacama

Marte Valley, Moon Valley:

Reception at Calama’s airport and transfer to the village of San Pedro de Atacama through the Domekyo Mountain Range and the Salt Mountain Range. In the afternoon, visit the Salt Mountain, Marte Valley (also called Death Valley) and Moon Valley to admire the spectacular sunset reflected on this wonderful landscape – nature’s own light show. Return to the hotel and overnight.

Day 2 – San Pedro de Atacama

Atacama Salt Flat, Chaxa Lagoon, Toconao, High Lagoons of Meñique and Miscanti:

Breakfast in the hotel. Full day excursion of the High Plateau – We will start by visiting the Atacama Salt Flat, which is Chiles biggest Salt Flat and among one of the largest in the world. Here we will find Chaxa Lagoon, where three different species of flamingoes live and breed. We will also have the chance of visiting the picturesque village of Toconao, where the most important attraction is its Bell Tower constructed in the classical atacamenian way. Afterwards, we will visit the village of Socaire and the High Plateau Lagoons of Meñique and Miscanti, located at 4,500 meters above sea level (14,850 feet above sea level). This area is part of the Flamingos National Reserve. These lagoons are surrounded by impressive volcanoes that were formed when the Andes Mountain Range rose from the sea through millions of years of evolution. Return to San Pedro de Atacama and overnight.

Day 3 – San Pedro de Atacama

Tatio Geysers:

Departure at dawn to the Tatio Geysers.  Breakfast box included for the visit to the Geysers. Then begin a soft guided walking tour around the geothermal fields to watch how these spectacular jets of steam shoot up. Free time to walk around and back trip through the Andes Mountain Range with an impressive view of Putama Volcano and Tocorpuri Mountains where native flora can be appreciated. On the way back, visit to Machuca, a small desert village with its typical terrace farming system, the mud houses with straw roofs, its church and local fauna such as llamas, alpacas and flamingos. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight.

Day 4 – San Pedro de Atacama – Calama

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport of Calama to board your next flight.
